Love Letter, a short story by George Saunders
My wife shared this story with me last weekend. From the title, I had no idea what to expect. It generated a lot of discussion between us. The story originally appeared in The New Yorker in the Spring of 2020, but recently resurfaced as a result of an interview last week between Saunders and Steven Colbert.
If you prefer listening over reading, in the interview, Saunders references this reading of "Love Letter" by Colbert at Symphony Space. It's probably one of the best things I've read all year.
